YOGA AT POWERNOUSE on Sunday Mornings.
Starting in July, we will be introducing a Yoga class from 10am till 11.15am on Sunday mornings. Pricing will be the same as normal mat classes. Below is an outline of the style of Yoga and a Bio of Tanya Wansbrough the instructor.
Class Description
This vinyasa flow class is a dynamic practice, a meditation in movement that blends the practices and wisdom of many yogic styles. The main focus during the class is on the breath, and synchronising the breath with movement through a series of postures. The class is appropriate for all levels*; students are encouraged to observe their bodies and to playfully, safely explore their boundaries with attention to correct foundations and alignment. The combination of hard work and deep relaxation will help to restore balance to body, mind and spirit. Regular practice will build strength and flexibility, improve inner health, give clarity of mind and a greater sense of peace.
*This class is not suitable for people with major injuries. If you are recovering from an injury but would like to begin yoga classes, please arrange an assessment with Dav Cohen before attending a class.
Tanya Wansbrough
Tanya stepped into her first yoga class 10 years ago and began a lifelong journey of discovery. She has explored many aspects of yoga, practicing and learning with teachers from different lineages and traditions, including Ashtanga, Anusara, Jivamukti, Kundalini and Traditional Hatha. In 2007, Tanya completed her teacher training at the Samadhi Centre for Yoga in Denver, Colorado. She has continued her studies in the US and Australia, further developing her understanding of Yogic history, philosophy, anatomy, physiology and teaching methodologies.
While she revels in the outdoors, enjoys many sports and loves music, Tanya has found yoga is the one thing that can always restore stillness and calm in her life. She hopes to share all she has learned from her teachers, to help others understand the wonders and diversity of this ancient tradition.
