Raena Hartley - Pilates Instructor
Raena grew up on the North coast of NSW, where she enjoyed an upbringing rich in the performing arts. Upon completing school she made the move to Sydney to attend 'Brent Street' full-time performing arts course. It was here that she was first introduced to the pilates method, and was amazed at the positive results it had on her body.
Raena then completed a BA/ Dance B/A Education at the university of NSW, which not only cemented her love for teaching but also awoke her passion for choreography. During this time she was awarded two St. George choreographic scholarships to create work, and upon completion of her degree was commissioned to make a further three works. Through this time Raena also taught and choreographed for well known dance studios such as 'Dynamite Performing Arts', 'Dance North', and 'The Australian Youth Dance Theatre'.
Raena continued her Pilates practice throughout this time, and decided it would be an asset to do her studio Pilates training, which she completed through Polestar. Upon completion she began to work for 'Exact Pilates' part of 'solutions therapy centre', and 'Jan Pilates'.
Raena then caught the travel bug, so has spent the last two and a half years traveling through South America and Europe, before settling down in London to live and work. During this time she has started to experiment with other bodywork such as 'Feldenkrais', and Craniosacral therapy, which she hopes to begin formal training in this year.
Raena loves to facilitate clients learning on a kinesthetic level, and enjoys the satisfaction of improving mind-body connection.
